2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Review
For decades, the Ford F-150 has dominated the streets of Rising Sun, Elkton, and North East, MD. In 2023, the F-150 still has a sizable impact, and it comes in different forms, one of which being all-electric thanks to the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning.
In this 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning review by Ramsey Ford, you’ll learn all about what makes this truck special while maintaining that classic Ford flare.
2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Performance
Are you ready to go the distance? The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning dares to be different, especially when it comes to performance. As an all-electric truck, the 2023 F-150 Lightning doesn’t carry a traditional engine. Instead, it operates on dual motors that allow for between 462 and 580 horsepower, and 775 lb-ft of torque, the most torque offered in any F-150 ever.
You may have already guessed, but the 2023 Ford F-150 doesn’t run on fuel. Rather, it runs on a battery that when standardly equipped can produce up to an EPA-estimated 240 miles of range. If you add the available extended-range battery, your truck can last up to an EPA-estimated 320 miles before needing a charge.
A staple of Ford F-150 trucks is their ability to take heavy loads with them. When properly equipped, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning has a max conventional towing capacity of 10,000 lbs. and a max payload of 2,235 lbs. in a 5.5-ft styleside SuperCrew® truck bed.
2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Charging
The beauty of driving an electric vehicle like the F-150 Lightning is that just like your smartphone, laptop, and other electronic devices, you can plug it in and easily charge it up instead of going to the gas station. This can be done at home with the Ford Charge Station Pro, which comes with an extended range battery and takes up to eight hours to charge.
There’s also the mobile power chord. You’ll need a 240V connector for this, which may need to be installed by a professional at home. To fully charge the vehicle can take up to 20 hours. However, you can take this chord with you wherever you go and use it at one of our various charging stations in the area.
Have you ever been charging devices at home when suddenly the power goes out? If you’ve got the F-150 Lightning in your garage, you’ve got nothing to worry about! The truck’s available Intelligent Backup Power feature can power your entire home if the truck is plugged in, as it acts as a generator. Depending on how you ration your usage, your home can stay powered for up to 10 days!
2023 Ford F-150 Technology
At the heart of every modern-day adventure is some high-quality technology, whether that’s an advanced audio system, Bluetooth® for smartphone connectivity, or something else. No matter your pleasure, the 2023 F-150 Lightning can accommodate. Unique to Ford is the available SYNC® 4A system that can be displayed on a massive, available 15.5-inch infotainment screen.
With this screen, you can display your maps, calls, texts, and more. Available zone lighting, which can be customized using the screen, will see the truck remember things like your seating and mirror preferences, radio, navigation, and more, so all you’ll need to do is a press a button and the truck will do the rest!
The F-150 Lightning is also a very safe truck thanks to Ford Co-Pilot360™, which offers standard and available safety features like:
- Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
- Auto High-Beam Headlamps
- Pro Trailer Backup Assist™
- Blind Spot Information System® with Trailer Coverage
As an added measure, you can keep track of your truck on your phone with the FordPass® app. Check on its health, start it up, unlock it, and even schedule service right from your smartphone!
