Ford EcoSport Engines and Performance
The base engine for the EcoSport is a turbocharged 1.0-liter 3-cylinder that produces 123 horsepower. This engine has plenty of passing power and acceleration for around-town driving, but you can get even more with the available 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that produces 166 horsepower. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard for both.
The EcoSport combines power and performance with the zippiness of a subcompact SUV. Passengers have numerous pockets and cubbies to stow personal belongings, and the driver has a deep center console and glove box.
EcoSport Safety and Technology Features
The EcoSport comes with a rearview camera and the MyKey® system, which lets you set limits for younger and novice drivers to minimize distraction and teach good habits. Fog lights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and rear parking sensors are available. Another optional safety feature is blind-spot monitoring, a feature that alerts you to vehicles in your path when switching lanes.
The EcoSport is available with the intuitive SYNC® 3 infotainment system, a highly advanced system that features a logical menu layout, a responsive touchscreen with large icons, and integration with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® for on-the-go music and entertainment. Select functions, such as climate control and audio volume, are adjusted with physical buttons on the dash. An 8-inch touchscreen is standard. Optional features include a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, HD radio, satellite radio, and navigation.
